Gayle village is about half a mile south of the picturesque town of Hawes at the western end of Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Since there is no car parking at the Mill or in Gayle itself, visitors to the Mill are requested to park in Hawes (see the Bookings section for further details) and make their way to the Mill on foot.
The satellite pictures on such websites as Google Maps and Multimap are several years old and do not show the changes to the Mill since restoration. Note: if you are using a satnav system, our postcode DL8 3RZ is shown as the house 50m from the top of the track leading down to the Mill.
