Gayle Mill

How to find us

Gayle village is half a mile south of the market town of Hawes, which is on the A684, 17 miles west of Leyburn and 20 miles east of the M6 (junction 37)

Since there is no car parking at the Mill or in Gayle itself, visitors to the Mill are requested to park in Hawes (see the Parking/Transport section for further details) and make their way to the Mill on foot.

To get to Gayle Mill on foot from Hawes
Take a footpath south out of Hawes past St Margaret's Church to join the Pennine Way, or take the footpath by the side of the public conveniences (just past the Market Hall).
On reaching Gayle Lane, turn left and walk a few hundred yards to the top of the lane.  Follow the sharp left hand bend over the bridge and then turn left down the Mill Lane alongside the water race to Gayle Mill's entrance.

Note: if you are using a gps satnav system, our postcode DL8 3RZ is shown as the house 50m from the top of the track leading down to the Mill.
