Gayle Mill

Room Hire

Does your company need somewhere to get away from it all? A tranquil location to enable you to concentrate without the distractions of city life?

Does your organisation need somewhere to meet, carry out your own training programmes and courses, give presentations or talks, or simply use as a base for study or team-building exercises?

Gayle Mill has an open and airy space ideal for all these purposes and more.

The upper floor of the Mill was once used for the cleaning and carding of the raw cotton, flax or wool before they were spun into yarn to be woven into the finished cloth.  So the window embrasures were designed to let in the maximum amount of light with the minimum amount of heat loss, to enable the workers to see clearly what they were doing and to make the best use of the daylight hours.

Besides commanding some of the best views of the Wensleydale landscape, the upper floor enjoys a peaceful atmosphere rarely found in the urban environment.  Yet it offers the facilities needed for training and meetings including wireless internet connection and projection equipment*.

Tea, coffee and non-alcoholic cold drinks are included in the hire costs, and we can organise cold buffet lunches to your requirements. If you would like to spend more than one day at Gayle Mill, we can also arrange your accommodation locally. There is a competitive scale of charges (half or full days) depending on whether your organisation is private, public or voluntary sector.

* We regret that, because Gayle Mill is a grade II* listed building and scheduled ancient monument, there is no access for wheelchair users to the upper floor.
